Ernest Bramah (real name Ernest Brammah Smith, 20 March 1868 – 23 June 1942) was one of the most popular British detective writers of the Golden Age, whose success in the early 20th century rivaled that of Arthur Conan Doyle. He went down in literary history as the creator of Max Carrados, the world's first blind detective.
